Environmental noise in Western Australia is required to comply with the Environmental Protection Act 1986 and the Environmental Protection (Noise) Regulations 1997. Lloyd George Acoustics can measure and assess against these criteria, predict noise using computer modelling and provide recommendations on noise control. Measurements are undertaken using state-of-the-art equipment including precision integrating sound level meters capable of providing spectral analysis and noise data loggers for long term monitoring.

Noise modelling uses the computer programme SoundPLAN that incorporates terrain information, barriers, buildings, source sound power levels and meteorological effects – refer to the figure below for a typical output noise level contour plot.
